Pinched nerve

Heading to the doctor tomorrow. It appears I have a pinched nerve in my shoulder or neck. :(

"I can see your halo..."

Actually made it to my Saturday class at the gym (my new gym with shitty old equipment).

I love love love this class. It's called Centergy.

:)

The boys are in the basement working on the side biz...they have a HUGE opportunity on the horizon that kept us from going to Maine this weekend. Gave one of the guys a 'Babies on Board' sign for his car (his wife is due any day now with twins...and yes, I used a sharpie to modify an existing Baby on Board sign)

It's pouring rain, the basement is leaking, and we're missing one tree in the yard (it was a very sick hemlock that had to come down this week). But on the plus side we NOW HAVE a river view from the kitchen window.

Time to hide under the covers and read.

Cousins brunch

Had the cousins over for brunch today. Thank goodness the cold T had our entire vacation is gone now.

So I had to meet one of my cousins in the middle. Had to have her come 1 hour before the rest of the guests. Decided to serve bagels and fruit first to accomodate. Hot food was served an hour later. Good move because everyone was happy!

The kids even enjoyed our new backyard. :)

Today is the reason I live in New England

Our maple tree is golden orange today.

Our front steps have mums and pumpkins.

There's not a cloud in the sky.

I'm drinking cider from Bolton, MA. mmmmmm. That valley has the bestapplesever.

In other news...

My CFO may consider a potluck instead of co lunch for our next co meeting (well duh, if you're trying to get cash flow positive...)

Off to a baby shower

T and I wrote in the card:

"We got you something we would use a lot if we were having twins"

(got them a pack and play that they registered for). Or as T explains, "a baby cage"

mid way thru the weekend

I wonder when my new neighbors will move in?

Yesterday's day in the city with [info]dani_namaste was a much needed agenda-less afternoon. Got more than 12,000 steps in (more than 6 miles of walking with some of that due to losing the car in the Boston Common Parking Garage). I'm glad I felt better as the day progressed--had a weird stomach bug thing. And? Salsa! I made salsa last night (filled one extra Mason jar and ate the rest for dinner). Yes, salsa, chips and wine for the adult dinner of champions. That and finishing off the Rescue Me season made for a perfect night. T was exhausted after TWO trips to RI yesterday.

I need to make an apple crisp to bring to a BBQ later today in Holyoke. :) Excited to catch up with friends in The 413.

Need to head outside to dead-head the roses. They are providing a beautiful September display.

Other than that I'm volunteering at a farm tomorrow that just grows food for food pantries in MetroWest. Joy!

up early

Well here I am. Up early on a Saturday because T had to go to RI this morning.

Warm thoughts for a speedy recovery go out to [info]alysonwonderlan.

Excited about spending the afternoon with [info]dani_namaste. Gotta get some walking in as I'm in a nationwide competition this month.

I was productive for the past hour finally putting together my packet of reservations for my upcoming CA vacation. I figured put it all in a folder so I don't have to think/worry about everything for the next month. We reserved a Jeep Liberty for the week (big surprise there, right?). Since they changed the Liberty from when I bought it (I got Blue Steel right before it became the #1 selling SUV). Now, it's one of the worst but we figure how bad can it be? Our kitty sitter loves hers. Alas, I have a feeling my next Jeep in a few years will not be another Liberty unless they change the format. If I still have my 5 minute commute I'll get a 4-door wrangler. I'm just not a Grand Cherokee person, you know? That is so not for off-roading.

Alas, the 3 day weekend waits. Trying to force myself to do homework this morning.

...and we're off!

My first independent study/directed study was last night. It's taught by an amazing WPI professor. She might be one of the best grad school professors ever. Her feedback on LinkedIn is like nothing I've ever seen.

+2 case study research papers
+/- 2 group projects
++ no exams
+$4 dinner n the cafe at school might be a good way to suck up the free WiFi (well okay paid for by our MA state taxes) and to also secure better parking spots before class. I can also take leftovers in and heat them in the microwave and the head up for extra help before my Tuesday class (read: kiss the professor's ass to get a B- which is what I need in my last damn accounting class evah).
+ only 1 night on campus this fall
- I totally forget how to write in AP style. My brain no longer understands the meaning of that. I wonder if all of the years of assignments not in AP style (online classes, group projects) has warped my brain. Pulled out a book from undergrad that I will live and die by this semester. When a professor says AP style they mean that you have to write out one two three four the numbers and things. Or at least I think. One would think that I would not be a few months away from a master's forgetting how to write in AP style. oh, the horror. Damn you Internets.

All is right with the world

Made a decision not to go out 4 days this week with the semester starting Wednesday. I hope dinner tonight was fantastic though! :)

Unpacking, unpacking. That is the name of the game.

And an independent study instead of final seminar starts Wednesday. The thought of that scares me.

Oh and there is a lot of shall we say growing pains at work right now. Good stuff on the way, I'm just having trouble seeing it over the bad right now. I just have to trust that the executive team knows what they are doing!

I asked for a digital SLR camera from my parents as a graduation gift. Camera reccomendations welcome! :)

It is that time of year again

Oh yeah! 3 different types of peaches. Two different types of plums. I heart Nashoba Valley winery.

Trash The Dress photo shoot yesterday was amazing. 24 models. Makeup artists. Hair stylists. And my photo club. I helped with everything including wardrobe. It was so good to just dive inti that community again. Can't wait till grad school is done.

Holiday weekend

This morning while a huge thunderstorm rolled in we opted to stay in bed a little longer. I grabbed my work laptop and did a half hour's worth of work and drove in late.

The office is pretty empty and I'm not getting anything done. In the distance I hear a major ping pong game being played.

Tomorrow we head up to Maine. Hopefully the traffic will not suck and I'm really hoping the fireworks in Unity still go on.

Had a lovely date night at IKEA last night. Now my Jeep smells like IKEA on the inside. (we got a queen size bed and mattress for around $300).

Hope you all have a great weekend. I thin this is like day 35 of this rain. I'm trying hard not to keep track.

A good busy but rather ill day

Had a fantastic weekend in Maine. One last winter weekend... There is still snow in the far reaches of wilderness. My brother went with us and we went snowmobiling.

Yesterday we had friends over for St. Patty's Day. Lots of black & tans and corned beef and cabbage.

I have some sort of stomach bug that started yesterday afternoon. Had a very busy day today working from home. Went in for one meeting.

I missed out on a new class at the gym tonight. :(

Out for Restaurant Week tomorrow night. Hope I'm feeling back to normal by then.
