Soy Cheese

I just finished my lunch which featured a pocket by Amy's w/ soy cheese. And I really can't tell that it's not real cheese. I mean I'm a real cheese fan, but there seems to be an infinate number of products you can make from soy. It really is quite a useful little plant. Big fan.

So my trip Thurs-Fri to Jacksonville went well. Everyone had that nice southern hospitality thing going on. I was called ma'am, and I had to stop myself from saying ya'll. I have that problem there where you adapt the accent of the people around you when you travel to somewhere else. It's a bad habit, really.

I was very surprised about how much I liked Jacksonville. It seems like a city you would find much further north (trees that shed leaves in fall & the fact that it was in the 30s in the morning). The downtown has a river that cuts right thru it with shops and restraunts along the banks. It's beautiful at night with all the bridges all lit up. I did get to have Key Lime pie and excellent steak & shrimp skewers.

And I made it back long before the storm started so I did not get stranded anywhere which was cool. We got around 18-20" of powdery snow. I tell you, my body may be here at my desk, but my brain is out on the bikepath with snowshoes strapped on. Man, what a perfect day for something like that.

This morning I plopped my card & gift to T at his place at breakfast. He said that he'll wait till tonight to open it (translation: I have not made it to a store to buy my wife a card so I'll go during lunch). That's okay though because a few weeks ago we had a small emerald that his mom gave me set into a necklace (that I could not wear because it was in a ring that was too small). The jewler said it was too small to make into another ring, but it really looks great as a pendant. And it's better than the past 4 years it has spent sitting in my jewlery box, that's for sure. But I did act like a bitch over breakfast because there was not anything waiting at my spot for me. I feel bad for acting that way, but hey.

I think it's time to stick my head out the window to get some fresh air.
